To get the full scope of how the week will break down, 30 of the 36 home games will be on the weekend. Friday will have the most games with 12, followed by Saturday (11) and Sunday with seven games. If you’re looking for mid-week hockey, there are a few, with Wednesday having four games and Thursday with two.
Oh, We Meet Again…
Get ready to see these two teams a lot this season as the Swamp Rabbits will face the Atlanta Gladiators and the Savannah Ghost Pirates for a total of 13 games each. Just by geography alone, it makes sense for Greenville to see Savannah and Atlanta so many times over the course of the season.
If people enjoyed the 2022-23 Kelly Cup matchup in the first round, be ready to see the Jacksonville Iceman for 12 games this season. Furthermore, the I-26 rivalry carries on as the South Carolina Stingrays will make their appearance against the Swamp Rabbits in 12 games as well this season.
Hope you pack some bug spray if you’re planning on a trip to Florida as Greenville will see the Orlando Solar Bears and the Florida Everblades for a combined 14 games over the season. Although, it will be a split of seven games each between the two teams so plan accordingly if you travel to the Sunshine State or stay in the Upstate.
Non-Divisional Matchups
Looking at the games outside of the South Division slate, the Swamp Rabbits will have 10 games against non-division opponents. The five teams that Greenville will face in the 2023-24 season outside of the division are the Admirals as stated before, alongside the Cincinnati Cyclones, Toledo Walleye, Newfoundland Growlers, and Rapid City Rush.
While the Swamp Rabbits will meet Norfolk only one time (10/21) this season along with Cincinnati (12/6), the team will face the other non-divisional opponents for at least two games or more. February will feature six of the remaining eight non-divisional matchups with three games being in St. John’s, Newfoundland. The Growlers are the reigning North Division Champs and the Eastern Conference Regular Season Champs as well.
The other three games from that month will be against the Rush for three games at the end of February. Finally, the last two games outside of the South Division will be the Friday and Saturday back-to-back against the Walleye on the 15th and 16th of March.
Get There at this Time
So now you know when the games for the 2023-24 season will be. Although, you need to know what time the games will be played. Thankfully the times will be the same throughout the season, minus Sunday games and the December 31st game against the Everblades.
Games on Sunday afternoons will all start at 3:05 pm Eastern. All of the games from Wednesday through Saturday will have puck drop at 7:05 pm. The game on December 31st will start at 6 pm Eastern.
