In The Corners Episode #94: The Head, The Tail, The Whole Central Division

On this episode of the In The Corners Podcast with C.C. Hawkley and Sean O’Brien, the boys invite four AHL Central Division correspondents onto the show to talk about…well, offseason Central Division signings and re-signings!

INTRO

C.C. and Sean discuss the Belleville Senators getting an assist from the city of Belleville (much to the chagrin of Sean) and the AHL implications of the officially announced NHL start date for next season

ANTHONY NOFFKE (GRAND RAPIDS GRIFFINS CORRESPONDENT)

The Sin Bin’s own Anthony Noffke joins the program to talk about Griffins offseason additions and returners like Riley BarberTaro HiroseKevin Boyle, and Kyle Criscuolo

ERIC DUNAY (NASHVILLE PREDATORS PROSPECTS FOR SB NATION)

Thanks to a last-minute reach out from Sean, SB Nation’s On The Future writer Eric Dunay gets In The Corners with the boys to discuss Rem PitlickTyler Lewington, and former Marlies netminder joining the fold, Kasimir Kaskisuo

JON FROMI (ROCKFORD ICEHOGS FOR TSB AND FAXES FROM UNCLE DALE)

Hailing from the BMO South (his basement), Jon Fromi gives his two cents on two returning IceHogs, a new forward coming in from Notre Dame, and how their affiliation with the Blackhawks and ECHL’s Indy Fuel could benefit them in this unique 2020-21 season

IOWA WILD

C.C. and Sean fly solo to discuss six players that will don Iowa Wild sweaters for the 2020-21 season

TEXAS STARS

A quiet offseason for both the Dallas and Texas Stars has the boys discussing only two players (Joel L’Esperance and Landon Bow) returning to the organization next year (and the mistake they made in not signing Tomas Sholl)

MANITOBA MOOSE

The Moose have a similar (but not identical) situation to Texas in that they don’t have many players of note regarding offseason transactions. C.C. and Sean chat a little about Manitoba nonetheless (and will dive deeper into the club during their full season preview capsules!)

ANDREW RINALDI (CHICAGO WOLVES WRITER)

Last and certainly not least, Andrew Rinaldi (the third Sin Bin writer to grace the show this episode) spits facts about the new Chicago Wolves affiliation with the Carolina Hurricanes and what “new” players Wolves fans will be seeing in Rosemont this coming season

QUIZ: BURGUNDY OR ROSE?

Andrew sticks around to challenge C.C. to Sean’s latest quiz creation, Burgundy or Rose? Each contestant has to figure out if the name given belongs to a Chicago Wolves player…or someone who has appeared on The Bachelor!

STATEMENT ON PENGUINS SEX ASSUALT SCANDAL

Sean concludes the show on a very serious note, commenting on the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins scandal and resulting lawsuit, naming Bill Guerin and Clark Donatelli as responsible parties for an alleged assault against Jarrod Skalde‘s wife when they all served under the WBS Penguins umbrella
