Marlies Will Encounter All Sorts of Animals in Next Five

Marlies Will Encounter All Sorts of Animals in Next Five

TORONTO – The Toronto Marlies are riding high after a 4-1 victory against Belleville last Saturday. Although it’s always fun playing against someone in your division, and a rival at that, the Marlies will have to play teams from three different divisions in the coming days.

Marlies @ Moose: Tonight – 8 pm EST

To kick off a two-game road trip, the Marlies travel to Winnipeg to go moose hunting. The Manitoba Moose lost two of their top defensemen in Sami Niku and Nelson Nogier. Manitoba dropped their first game against the Rampage on Friday only to travel to Cedar Park, where they took a 5-3 victory over the Texas Stars. Tonight’s game will be the home opener for the Moose, and you can expect to see Mikhail Berdin and Kasmir Kaskisuo in the blue paint.

Marlies @ Moose: Saturday – 4 pm EST

In the second verse, the two squads full battle it out again in a Saturday afternoon matinee. Although there won’t be much change, we could see the backups for the first time for both teams. If such a case is valid, we will be able to see Joseph Woll and Adam Carlson
Woll had a fantastic year last year with Boston College and earned the trust to be a backup goaltender this year for the Marlies.
On the flip side, Carlson spent last year with the Rapid City Rush posting a .916 save percentage and is expected to be the Moose’s backup for the remainder of the season.

Bears @ Marlies: October 16th – 7 pm EST

Although it doesn’t look like the Bears will be eating beets, there undoubtedly hungry for a win. Hershey lost their first game against Wilkes-Barre Scranton, then suffered a loss against Providence in overtime.

With this, the Marlies will be the first on the Canadian circuit as they’ll go against Belleville and Laval.
A key for the Bears will be Michael Sgarbossa. Last year, he led the team with points at 65 and will be instrumental in doing the same this year for Hershey. All in all, it’ll be an exciting game to watch.

Monsters @ Marlies: October 19th – 4 pm EST

Cleveland started the year strong with two consecutive wins against Laval. When the Monsters roll into town, so too will the big guns in Zac Dalpe, Adam Clendening, and Nathan Gerbe. On the same coin, it’ll be a stretch of three games in three days where they’ll have to play Rochester the night before.

Monsters @ Marlies: October 20th – 4 pm EST

The second game is where we may expect to see both of the backup goalies. For the Marlies, this is their one opportunity to take advantage of Cleveland, where they will be tired from a full weekend of hockey. In the final game before Halloween, you might see a monster mash.
