Reading, Pa. — The Reading Royals closed out their regular season with a final game against the Adirondack Thunder Saturday night. The game was a very defensive game for both teams. Kevin Conley scored the lone goal of the game 5:58 into the second period to give the Royals a 1-0 lead. Both goaltenders — Hayden Hawkey for the Royals and Conor O’Brien for the Thunder — were called upon to make some tricky saves, but both were up to the challenge. It was Hawkey’s first shutout of the season. For O’Brien, it was his first professional start. Sarah Pietrowski was there to capture the action.
