MACON, Ga. – The Macon Mayhem hosted the Birmingham Bulls for their first home game of 2022 on Thursday, January 13. This was also the first night that Coach Kevin Kerr would return to Macon, albeit on the opposing teams’ bench.
These teams have struggled this season making this game important for both. Birmingham would tally the first goal early in the opening frame. The Mayhem would battle back and leave for the first intermission in a tie game. The second period was full of Mayhem. Macon dominated the ice and put up four unanswered goals. The Mayhem did not stop when the third period started. They stayed on the offensive and added one more to their lead. This was not the same team we have seen in Macon this season. Birmingham had no answer and would lose the game 6-1.
