ROANOKE, Va – The Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs hit the ice Saturday night, hoping to sweep the weekend against the Birmingham Bulls.
After a big win the night before, they summoned all their “turtle power” as they hit the ice with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles specialty jerseys. It was not meant to be, as the Bulls took this game 4-1. The Dawgs’ lone goal came from a Jarrad Vroman rebound from a Nick Ford shot in the second period. Birmingham answered not long after, including a power-play goal in the third period from captain Mike Davis. The Bulls managed to snap Roanoke’s five-game winning streak before they headed back to Alabama.
