ROANOKE, VA. – The Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs opened their 2022-2023 season this past Friday, at the Berglund Center. 4500 people celebrated as the Dawgs won their home opener, wearing specialty “Dirty Dawgs” jerseys. (a reminder of the playoffs last season )
Fayetteville’s Andrew Lane scored the first goal of the game, with a rebound, in the first period.
Roanoke’s Mac Jansen brought the first goal home in the second period. Two more goals had Roanoke in the lead by the close of the second period.
Another goal in the third period from Travis Broughman gave the Dawgs a comfortable lead, closing the game with a 4-2 victory.
Roanoke’s next home game will be on November 4, 2022.
