CINCINNATI, Ohio – Sunday’s game against the Fort Wayne Komets was Justin Vaive‘s youth jersey giveaway day, in which the Cincinnati captain did not disappoint.
The afternoon began with a power-play goal by Louie Caporusso, opening Cincinnati’s scoreboard at 1:18 of the second period. Fort Wayne tied the game at 1 with a goal by Darien Kielb less than three minutes before the second intermission. Despite the Komets outshooting the Cyclones 19 to 8 in the final period, Justin Vaive scored the winning goal at the 1:19 mark. With this win, the Cyclones broke the previous franchise record of 17 games with points. In his third consecutive term as a starter, Mark Sinclair made 34 saves.
