ROANOKE, Va– The Berglund Center was hopping Friday night as the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs exploded into the new year with an 8-3 victory over the Macon Mayhem.
Roanoke’s Chris Vella opened the scoring less than five minutes into the first period on a rebound. In the second period, Roanoke’s Dillon Radin scored two goals 36 seconds apart. Macon’s Caleb Cameron answered the Dawgs with two of Macon’s three goals. Roanoke had nine players scoring two or more points that night, with goalie Austyn Roudebush blocking 18 of 21 shots. Macon utilized both goalies, Cody Karpinski and Josh Benson, stopping 29 of Roanoke’s 37 shots.
