READING, PA – For the second straight season the Reading Royals and Maine Mariners are facing off in the first round of the Kelly Cup playoffs.
In Friday nights game, the first two periods did not feature any scoring but was physical from the get go. Solag Bakich opened the scoring just 21 seconds into the third period to give the Royals the lead. Curtis Hall tied up the game with seven minutes left in the third and Charlie Gerard gave the Royals the lead again three minutes later. The Mariners continued to push but could not get anymore past Pat Nagle. The final score was 2-1.
