MACON, Ga. – Mayhem fans filled the Macon Coliseum carrying stuffed animals for “Teddy Bear Toss Night” on Saturday night. The Pensacola Ice Flyers came to town for the second time in as many weeks to face the Mayhem. On “Teddy Bear Toss Night,” the fans throw the stuffed animals they brought onto the ice after the first home goal. The plush toys will be donated to the local children’s hospital.
The Ice Flyers were able to net a goal in each of the first two periods. The Mayhem fought hard from the opening puck drop but could not find a hole in the Pensacola netminder. The final buzzer sounded with a final score of 2 to 0. Since the Mayhem did not score a goal, fans could finally throw their stuffed animals onto the ice after the game.
