PELHAM, Ala – Wednesday night the number three seed Peoria Rivermen took on the number six seed the Pensacola Ice Flyers, in the opening game of Series-C in the first round of the 2022 President’s Cup.
Although Pensacola was the home team, the game was played in Pelham, Alabama due to an event at the Pensacola Bay Center. These two teams did not face each other at all during the regular 2021-2022 season, with the last time being back in February 2020. Pensacola came out on top of that game with a 2-1 victory.
Peoria won the first game of this playoff series with a score of 6-3. The Ice flyers goals were scored by Fredric Letourneau, Weiland Parish and Ivan Bondarenko, all coming in the third period.
