TOLEDO, Ohio – Sunday evening at the Huntington Center, the South Carolina Stingrays faced the Toledo Walleye. Toledo wore specialty Scooby-Doo jerseys. The Stingrays took a 4-1 victory in regulation.
The Stingrays started the scoring in the first period with a goal from Kevin O’Neil at the 9:02 mark. The Walleye capitalized on a power play later in the first, with a goal by Derek Daschke, for his first professional career goal on a nice rebound shot from T.J. Hensick. The Stingrays scored the last three goals of the game which led to the 4-1 victory in front of 7,660 Walleye faithful.
The Stingrays during their road trip against central division teams, outscored their opponent 18-1. The Walleye look to improve their record next week against the central division-leading Cincinnati Cyclones at home on Friday night.
