CHARLOTTE, Nc – The Charlotte Checkers took on the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins for the second time on Sunday in what turned out to be another overtime game.
After a scoreless first period, the Penguins got one in the net early in the second. Matt Kiersted answered shortly after with a goal for the Checkers. Both teams scored goals in the third period, forcing the game into overtime. After a scoreless overtime, Alexander Nylander won the shootout for the Penguins with a final score of 3-2.
