The All-Star Classic will entail three days of festivities, including the All-Star Game, ECHL Hall of Fame induction ceremony, and other events, which will be announced as we arrive closer to the date next January.
In 2023 Savannah was not represented in Norfolk’s All-Star Classic, as Pat Guay (The Ghost Pirates’ selection) was called up to the American Hockey League’s Henderson Silver Knights the day before the event took place. In 2024 they will be hosting the entire event, which is a fantastic step up in forms of representation.
Per the ECHL in past announcements, it has been reported that the classic provides a significant economic boost for the host city. When announcing Norfolk being named the 2023 host city, they mentioned that revenue generated is typically over one million dollars for the host city.
Everyone from fans of competing clubs to National Hockey League team personnel attends the All-Star Classic. It is a unique opportunity for players in the ECHL to show their talents to the masses and put themselves on the radar for higher leagues as they continue their professional hockey careers.
I will be with you every step of the way to provide insight, news, and updates as more information comes to light regarding the 2024 ECHL All-Star Classic.
