From the stories on the ice to those that play out in the standings and everything in-between, The Holy GrAHL has it covered.
Welcome to The Holy GrAHL, Field Pass Hockey’s newest podcast.
Here at The Holy GrAHL, hosts Andrew Rinaldi, Deana Weinheimer, Jeremy Paul, and Zack Power focus on all the stories around the American Hockey League. From the ones on the ice to those that play out in the standings and everything in-between, The Holy GrAHL has it covered.
On the sixth episode of The Holy GrAHL, the crew gets you ready for the week ahead in the AHL. From news to looking ahead at the following week’s worth of games, The Holy GrAHL has it all.
First, TW/CW for SA. We discuss the lawsuit and the arraignment against former Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins head coach Clark Donatelli. While we do not go into explicit detail on the allegations, we fully recognize this could be difficult for some to listen to. If you would like to skip this section, please feel free to jump ahead to 4:54 in the podcast. At the bottom of this post, we have included a few resources for victims in the United States and Canada.
Then, they go over the biggest news of the past week, including the return of Trey Fix-Wolansky for the Cleveland Monsters and a new assistant coach in Rockford. They also discuss the amazing play of Ukko Pekka-Luukkonen, a see-saw weekend for the Ontario Reign, the complete domination of the league at the hands of the Utica Comets, and a game for the book for the Charlotte Checkers.
Next, we award our oof of the week. By the way… got a second? The Toronto Marlies do, much to the chagrin of the Chicago Wolves.
The three then play Swipe Left or Swipe Right. And yes, a super swipe is used! In the scoring races, a surprising name is dominating for the second week in a row. Who is that? Don’t let the mustache give it away.
In the Quest for the Holy Grail, they discuss who moved up, who moved down, and which teams need to get going. To finish up the show, the hosts make their pick on the game of the week. Does last week’s pact regarding the Pacific Division picks hold?
Deana is back this week and hosts the bonus round! She takes Zack, Jeremy, and Zack back to the 2011-12 season. Who comes up on top? And yes, a tie-breaker is involved.
The Holy GrAHL, Field Pass Hockey’s flagship American Hockey League Podcast. Each week, we look into the biggest stories out of the AHL, its players, and their teams.
