The Sin Bin is Now Field Pass Hockey

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Field Pass, the Birmingham, Alabama-based sports media company, has acquired The Sin Bin, the source for news, photos, podcasts & views in every level of professional hockey in North America. They have writers that cover the American Hockey League (AHL), ECHL and Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL).

“We have known Matthew Harding  for a few years and are extremely excited for the opportunity to take this project to the next level.” said Field Pass co-founder, David Koonce. “We had been looking for the right avenue to expand our pro hockey platform, and this acquisition was presented at a perfect time for us.”

The acquisition of The Sin Bin fits into Field Pass’ strategy to further the company’s growth into the American Hockey League (AHL), ECHL, and the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL). The Sin Bin will be rebranded as Field Pass Hockey, a new brand to the Field Pass portfolio. Harding will remain on staff with Field Pass Hockey as the Managing Editor with his current team members. Field Pass Hockey plans to bring on additional writers, photographers, and videographers for the team. Recruitment for those positions will begin this summer.

“It is a new day for hockey coverage and North American and we are extremely excited to get started with Field Pass!” said Matthew Harding. “David Koonce and David Arnott have done an outstanding job of building Field Pass brand into one that is recognized across a wide array of sports. We look forward to developing new ways of storytelling and enhancing the platforms we have developed in the six-year run of The Sin Bin here with Field Pass.”
