D’Amato joins the Henderson Silver Knights after beginning his season playing 17 games down with Savannah. Throughout his stint in the ECHL, he totaled 14 points (4 goals & 10 assists) and was an extreme playmaker for Savannah on the power play unit.
During his time in Savannah, he spoke highly of his teammates, and it was evident that his character was one of his strengths.
D’Amato was the third player to reach the AHL level in the last six days for Savannah, and the second recalled by Savannah’s AHL affiliate in Henderson. His fellow teammate Peter DiLiberatore was recalled to Henderson on Dec. 2 as well. DiLiberatore had a ten-game stint with Savannah after beginning the year on the Henderson roster before his call back up.
Will Riedell, who signed an ECHL contract with Savannah, also reached the AHL level as he is currently on loan to the San Jose Barracuda where he has already pitched in for two games this year.
The path forward for Savannah, currently fifth in the South Division standings, does become a little more difficult after losing three quality players from the organization. The Ghost Pirates host Florida on Thursday and Friday prior to playing at Atlanta on Sunday.
